Slow Living - Harvest

Slow LivingAt Slow Living we embrace the changing seasons of our beautiful climate, and bring to our store each week the pick of the farmer’s crop. Earthy root vegetables for winter soups and casseroles, apples and berries for the sweetest pies, crisp leafy greens and vine ripened tomatoes for a fresh summer salad.

Simply put, it’s natural, honest, earthy food. We enjoy nothing better than a field trip to check out what’s been freshly harvested, what’s in season, and what tastes best.

Thinking globally, and acting locally – this is foremost in our minds when it comes to choosing fresh produce for the store. Reducing food miles, and knowing the source of our produce is just as important to us as it is to our customers.

Whilst our focus is to offer as many “certified” organic and biodynamic products as possible, we are blessed with many quality, artisan producers in this region, and recognize that their contribution to sustainable, local food production is important.  By supporting local farms and producers is one way we can make a difference on a global scale, at a local level.

Lifestyle, Homewares & Books

Slow Living When I think about Slow Living at home, it’s all about family meals, using classic cookware that is inspiring to use and are conversation pieces in themselves, or perhaps reading a book that encourages you to get out in the garden and plant some vegetables. It’s about recycled, reuse, getting back to basics.

Slow LivingIf you love baking, then our Slow Living range of recycled vintage homewares will bring back memories of your grandmother’s kitchen. Pudding bowls, mixing bowls, rolling pins, earthenware baking dishes, sit alongside cooking and lifestyle books.

Fairtrade is a great cause, and we have started to introduce a range of these products. We love them, because they are simple and honest, and that’s consistent with Slow Living.
